About Pee Dee Regional Center
Pee Dee Regional Center is a residential facility of the South
Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in
Florence, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental
disabilities.
Job Responsibilities
This position implements the principles of Applied Behavior
Analysis, which include but are not limited to creation of program
procedures relevant to prevention strategies, antecedent
manipulations, acquisition of replacement behaviors, reduction of
maladaptive behaviors, reinforcement procedures; conducts
functional analyses and assessment, provides monitoring and
data-based feedback, ensures generalization and maintenance of
acquired behavior, and creates training procedures for adaptive
life skills to individuals diagnosed with intellectual disability,
autism, and/or mental health disorders at Pee Dee Regional
Center.
This position also oversees programming of associate behavior
analysts and provide ongoing support and supervision to Registered
Behavior Technicians as it relates to the implementation and
documentation associated with Behavior Support Plans.
Conducts comprehensive assessments of consumers to determine the
function of maladaptive behaviors such as self-injury, aggression,
property destruction, and elopement. Utilizes direct observation,
interviews with caregivers, and standardized tools to identify
problem behaviors and appropriate interventions.
Oversees the implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and
monitors their effectiveness by working closely with Registered
Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and other relevant staff. Makes
necessary modifications to plans based on data and progress, and
ensures ongoing fidelity checks for consistent implementation.
Develops individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on the
assessments, incorporating measurable goals and strategies for
reducing maladaptive behaviors and promoting adaptive skills.
Tailors plans to consumer needs, focusing on teaching alternative
behaviors and using proactive, antecedent-based interventions.
Provides ongoing training and supervision to Registered Behavior
Technicians, other staff, and paraprofessionals on behavior
analytic strategies, ensuring competency in implementing BSPs and
data collection. Maintains BCBA certification through professional
development and continuing education.
Adheres to the BACB ethical guidelines and ensures compliance with
all relevant laws and regulations. Maintains accurate, timely
records related to assessments, behavior plans, and training.
Upholds professional conduct and best practices in all interactions
with consumers and staff.
Performs other job-related duties as needed, such as crisis
intervention, administrative tasks, or collaboration with
interdisciplinary teams to support overall consumer care.
Assists with the growth of the RBT program at a Pee Dee Regional
Center.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a
related field and professional experience in a mental health, human
service or social service program.
Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification, and
in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification for
at least 2 years, completed supervision training required by the
BACB, and in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification
Board.
Extensive knowledge of behavior change science and other principles
of behavior analysis. Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior
management skill, instructional skills, oral and written
communication, organizational skills and interpersonal relations.
Efficient ability to multi-task, and prioritize. Experience working
with a variety of individuals diagnosed with intellectual
disability, autism, and/or mental health disorders in regard to
age, functionality, and with minimal direction.

State Disaster Plan: In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan,
which includes hazardous weather, DDSN employees may be required to
