Volt is hiring Electrical Test Technicians for a leading
manufacturing company in West Columbia, SC.
Electrical Test Technician Job Duties:
Conducts Failure Analysis in electronic products at component and
system levels to get to the root cause of the failure in order to
diagnose PCBA and increase the Technical Knowledge.
Develop Troubleshooting Guides and work with Education to Train the
Technical People.
Collaborate with the Test Engineer (TE) or Failure Analysis (FA)
Engineer to communicate to the customer new repair solutions or
issues detected in the product.
Analyzes circuits and topologies to identify marginal failure root
causes.
Performs Failure Analysis for customers and suppliers as
required.
Develops, maintains and improves all troubleshooting solutions
within area or responsibility.
Drives recovery actions/repairs of the Test process Failure
Inventory.
Consistently reviews quality yields and develops corrective actions
to eliminate any yield detractors,
further improves the process and product reliability. Works with
the Quality Engineer to determine if field/box line data indicates
a need for process/product improvement.
Assists with the fabrication and development of new equipment,
fixtures and test programs.
Assists engineering and the development labs with all new product
introduction and development.
Supports and facilitates Debug or Technical training process.
Drives recovery actions/repairs of any test or burn-in process that
is down.
Sets-up the Test Equipment.
Troubleshoots/debugs at multiple system levels the DGI escalated to
FA.
Performs and does the Reports and indicators assigned to the
Failure Analysis and Test Process.
Improves the Failure Analysis Procedure.
Follows instructions for all the operations involved in the Test
process.
This is a full time, temp - perm opportunity.
Payrate: $26.00/hour
Shift: 3 pm- 11 pm (Monday-Friday)
Education/Experience
Typically requires a minimum of an Associate's Degree, Electronic
Engineering degree or equivalent experience and training. In
addition, typically requires 1 year related
experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Demonstrates basic functional and/or process knowledge and
participates in process. Requires basic competency related to
function.
Demonstrates technical skills.
Requires ability to read drawings and use measurement
instruments.
Use of the following tools may be required:
Electronic Assembly: color code, component, schematics, PCB
touch-
up, commercial soldering, mechanical assembly, PCB point to point
wiring
Cables: connector/ wire soldering
Testing: oscilloscope, cable & harness testing, trouble shooting,
component testing, logic analyzer; Inspection: PCB loaded,
components, cable/harness, microscope
Mechanical & Electrical Tools: power
air guns
Office Skills: data entry, spread sheet (PC), software. Ability
to
troubleshoot/debug at multiple system levels, configure /setup
complex disk
arrays, format and build software per unit configuration and
perform module
verification. Familiar with AWS operations in order to
communicate
with units(s). Must understand technical equipment & language
(DOS, Windows, NT, and Unix).
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and
statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and
trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios
and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions
in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and
concrete variables
