Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Documentation and Training Specialist will serve as the primary
administrator for the Learning Management System (LMS), training
development website, collaborating closely with subject matter
experts, training managers, and other key stakeholders. This role
is responsible for managing and overseeing all training-related
functions, including tracking and reporting expenditures,
coordinating material updates, and ensuring smooth LMS operations.
Additionally, the Documentation and Training Specialist will
actively participate in evaluating training needs and provide
valuable input to the Manufacturing, Distribution, and Fulfillment
training team for the design and enhancement of both new and
existing curriculum. The position will also ensure that all
training programs and materials remain current and aligned with
organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Manufacturing's LMS, employee records, requests for
training, certification/recertification oversight
- Assist in the implementation and sustainment of the training
Learning Management System
- Tracks and reports against instructor/On the Job Trainer (OJT)
capacity
- Manage the department project deliverables and timelines to
achieve goals, objectives, and quality expectations
- SharePoint training program designer as a certified SharePoint
subject matter expert
(SME)/program owner. Controls and assigns all training department
user accounts and tracks User Account Use Policy training
- Manage the use of SharePoint learning programs and function as
Manufacturing's responsible party for all development of SharePoint
sites housing training documentation
- Identifies and provides SharePoint system training for those
sites containing operational training requirements
- Identifies and incorporates best practice use of Manufacturing
SharePoint sites
- Monitor associated development expenditures, prepare and track
the department's training budget
- Assess curriculum for delivery method possibilities to include
use of work instructions, new technologies, etc.
- Assists with selecting or developing teaching aids, such as
training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids,
computer tutorials, and resource materials.
- Assist in the assessment of, design, develop, and evaluation of
learning and organizational development solutions for multiple
projects to support leaders and individual contributors at DISH.
This may include developing multimedia elements to support
classroom-based instructor-led, elearning and mobile content
(graphics, video, audio, etc.)
- Determine learning and material requirements for L&D
projects
- Implement style guide and design document standards to ensure
consistency across projects
- Utilize an instructional design methodology for all project
work (ADDIE or similar)
- Utilize adult learning theory to design and develop learning
programs that meet the needs of a diverse audience
- Use adult learning principles to assist in the design of
programs using environments such as classroom learning,
demonstrations, one-on-one training, on-the-job training, or online
learning.
- Track all training requests to include 3rd party vendor
requisitions, PO's, and AP receiving
- Track all training department expenditures
- Work with more senior training department members to help
oversee/track requests for training
- Stays current with technology and adult learning trends and
shares knowledge with the team.
- Flexibility in taking direction, receiving critiques, and
redirection
- Review designs for errors before printing or publishing
them
- Meet deadlines and keep all stakeholders informed of
progress
- Ability to support multiple projects and responsibilities
simultaneously
- Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
where priorities are constantly changing
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time
management skills
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 2
years of experience; or 5 years related experience; or equivalent
combination of education and experience
Skills and Qualifications:
- Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other
software including, in order of priority: InDesign, Photoshop,
Acrobat Pro, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Flash, as well as Word and
Excel and basic proficiency in a variety of e-learning software
such as Articulate, Captivate, etc.
- Proficiency in A.D.D.I.E. ISD method and familiarity with other
ISD models such as SAM, rapid ISD, etc. and evaluation methods such
as Kirkpatrick
- Mid-level of proficiency in visual design including typography,
layout, color management, user interface design and color
theory
- Excellent organizational skills including project management
with preferred experience in a formal PM software (e.g., MS
Project)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of the organization
- Requires high level computer expertise, including use of
database, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation
applications, ability to train preferred; general office knowledge
involving filing, data entry, operating multi-line phone system and
customer service. Requires advanced knowledge of SharePoint and a
high level of exposure to design and development of an LMS
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication
skills
- High level knowledge regarding the access and effective
utilization of resources
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of
sensitive information
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals,
including the ability to process and interpret financial data
- Ability to perform basic computations and to draw and interpret
bar graphs.
- Strong ability to solve practical problems in a timely manner
and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where
only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability effectively screens requests directed at Executive
Staff and independently resolves most requests.
- SharePoint certified program owner
- Collaborative approach to working with team and clients

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $54,650.00/Year - $78,100.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total
compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications,
skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's
location and is subject to change based on work location.
