  • All candidates will need to complete a virtual interview for this role, and offers will be made based on that interview.
  • Critical care experience is a must.
  • May float to Stepdown and Med Surg units as needed.
  • Unit: 2S ICU
  • Number of Beds: 32
  • Nurse Patient Ratio: typically 1:2, can be 1:1 or 1:3 as well
  • Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatric
  • Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: Respiratory distress/failure, cardiac arrest, DKA, sepsis, ARF, strokes (hemorrhagic and embolic), OHS, TAVR's, vascular surgeries, thoracotomies, carotids.
  • Special procedures done on the unit: Many procedures are done at the bedside including bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, central line insertions, intubations, arterial line and Swan Ganz line placement, chest tube insertions.
    • Job Requirements
    • Critical care experience is a must.
    • Required skills include IV Insertion, PICC/Central Line Management, Vascular Device Access/Care, Dialysis Fistula Care/Management, A-Line Management, CVP.
    • Preferred skills include PA Line Management, IABP, Obtain 12 Lead EKG, Epicardial Pacer Management.
    • Required airway skills include Procedural Sedation, CPAP/BiPAP, Ventilators, High Frequency Vents/Oscillators, Nitric Oxide, Trach Care.

      • Effective 01.08.2024 - 16 Hours of Unpaid Orientation.
      • For roles with a guarantee, Boone Health can call off staff for up to 36 hours in a contract.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Common Equipment: Alaris pumps, Prisma flex, Arctic Sun, IABP, Impella, SCD's, Phillips Monitors, Belmont rapid infusor, ceiling lifts, bard and CADD pumps, bladder scanners.
        • Common Medications: Vasopressors, sedative and anxiolytics, paralytics, cardiac dysrhythmic meds. Vasoactive Drip Titration is Required.
