Position Overview
The Corporate Controller plays a key leadership role in managing
accounting processes and integrating financial data across a
diverse portfolio of operating companies. This role is responsible
for ensuring accurate, timely, and strategic accounting functions
that enhance enterprise-wide decision-making, supports investment
strategies, and drives value creation. The Corporate Controller
will oversee multi-entity accounting consolidation, maintain
internal controls, and implement best practices aligned with the
needs of a dynamic family office structure.
This position requires a strategic leader ideally with deep
expertise in multi-entity consolidations and accounting across
multiple industries . The ideal candidate will balance strong
technical accounting acumen with a hands-on, collaborative approach
to working with portfolio company leadership, ensuring alignment
with the overall financial strategy of the firm.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership & Reporting
- Oversee multi-entity accounting reporting and consolidations,
ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory
requirements.
- Provide strategic insights and financial recommendations to
senior leadership, investment teams, and portfolio company
executives.
- Partner with operating company leadership and team members to
drive consistent financial reporting standards and key performance
metrics across the portfolio.
- Prepare and present financial reports to
leadership/stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial
performance narratives.
Accounting Operations & Process Optimization
- Direct centralized accounting operations across the family
office and portfolio companies, including general ledger
management, and various types of financial statement
accounting.
- Drive automation and scalable accounting processes to enhance
reporting efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve real-time
decision-making.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure financial controls, risk management policies, and
compliance frameworks are upheld across all entities, aligning with
industry best practices.
- Lead/liaison internal and external audit processes, tax
compliance efforts, and regulatory reporting, working closely with
auditors and external advisors.
Strategic & Cultural Integration
- Align accounting strategies with the investment and operational
goals of the family office and portfolio companies.
- Assist in financial due diligence, post-acquisition
integration, and ongoing financial governance for new
investments.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance finance culture,
ensuring knowledge-sharing and financial discipline across the
organization.
Key Qualifications & Competencies
- Experience and strong understanding of multi-entity financial
consolidation, investment accounting, and private equity
structures.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex
financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
- Expertise in GAAP, financial controls, and technical
accounting
- Experience working within a private equity, family office, or
investment environment is a plus
- Proven track record of leading and mentoring accounting teams,
fostering a culture of excellence.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience managing accounting system implementations and
driving process automation at scale.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related
field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably
within a private equity, family office, or multi-entity
environment.
- 5+ years of leadership experience, with demonstrated success in
managing teams across multiple business units.
- Experience with investment accounting, multi-entity financial
consolidations, and financial reporting for private equity-backed
companies.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting
software
